Added people and lessons

This week has been more to do with british films than anything else. With Mrs. Francis we have looked at working picture films such as Briget Jones Diary and Film 4 films such as This Is England which was on during the week. On both films we looked to see if they followed Todorov's pattern which, Briget J D did but This Is England fell short at the last hurdle (being the end of the film). We also looked at the types of characters in British films. I choose to study Hot Fuzz with Simon Pegg in, typically British. We had character such as the hero, the father etc, and we realised that the film had each catagory of character.

In tomorrows lesson we are carrying on the planning stage of our coursework and after todays BREAKTHROUGH of having found a cartoon changing programme on the mac's our job will be a lot easier to have frames in comic and some in real life as is the plan. It should be interesting now to see how things fit together.

I have also started adding people onto my blogs.....

Recent media antics!

With Mr. VS:

Today was our first day on coursework. Many ideas were about but we came to the conclusion that we would do an action/thriller in the same style as Sin City. This means we are going to attempt to turn some of the characters into cartoon then from cartoon back to the characters. Although this is going to be a highly time consuming task we feel, in our group, that it will be worth while and the best results will come of it. We expiramented on photoshop today, and had a few attempts at making pete (fellow film maker) into cartoon. This was highly unsuccessful. But as time goes on and trail and error takes place this could turn into the next motion picture. Or not!

With Mrs.Francis:

We have looked at a skins or hollyoaks trailer or episode and analyised the 4 parts. Misse-en-scene, editing, sound and cinematography. All 4 elements were very pronounced in the skins series 2 trailer that i watched. We have also watched East is East and have made noted on the clips that we have seen on youtube to represent how this is a "british comedy". But most recently we have looked at channel 4 films and prodominatly english films with the usual Huge Grant, Simon Pegg effect.
